Arts, community and local government organisations with a track record in producing successful community arts programs and the capacity to support activities in the locations targeted by the scheme.

Promoting Diversity through the Arts is a new scheme that is part of VicHealth’s Program to Promote Cultural Diversity and Prevent Ethnic and Race-based Discrimination.

The scheme comprises three inter-related components: 

  • Grants to support three-year community arts projects; 
  • Grants to support arts organisations and venues to present arts programs that support the aims of the scheme; and 
  • Communications activities to support the program’s messages.

VicHealth is now seeking applications for the first two components of the scheme. The guidelines below refer to the Community Arts Grants. Guidelines are also available for the Arts Organisations and Venues Grants at: www.vichealth.vic.gov.au/fundingopen


What grants are available?

Grants of up to $30,000 per year for three years (a total of $90,000) are available to support community arts projects with the potential to promote cultural diversity and reduce ethnic and race-based discrimination in Victoria. It is anticipated that between 8 and 10 projects will be funded.
