More information

Expressions of interest from local governments are invited to work with VicHealth to pilot a place-based program to increase participation by promoting diversity, fostering equity and preventing discrimination.

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) is a partner in this initiative and will support its development. It is anticipated that local government will lead a group of local and/or statewide agencies that will develop and implement the pilot, in collaboration with VicHealth.

The LEAD program focuses on attitudes and behaviours among the whole community and on structures and cultures within organisational and community environments. How individuals and local institutions respond to cultural diversity in general, as well as to particular racial/ethnic/religious groups, is the major focal point.

How much funding is available?
Up to $300,000 p.a. for three years (to end 2011) is available to successful applicants.
