Pregnant woman with doctorAlthough there is clear evidence that heavy alcohol consumption during pregnancy can affect the long-term development and health of children, there is no such clarity for low to moderate consumption.

In order to provide this evidence, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute is conducting a four year study of pregnant women and their babies. The results will have broad implications for national policy review and development, health professional education and consumer diagnosis and treatment initiatives.
