Adam Cresswell, health editor of The Australian, wrote on 28 February 2009 that ‘...good health doesn't come cheap. Australia's total spending on health reached $94 billion in 2006-07, equivalent to $4507 a person and accounting for 9% of gross domestic product, an increase from 7.7% of GDP 10 years earlier.
