VicHealth CEO Rob Moodie says one of the most enduring perceptions about smoking patterns is that there are more young women smoking. He points to new research from Quit Victoria which found that the State now has the lowest recorded levels of youth smoking and adds that this misperception may finally be put to bed. He writes that tobacco control is a major public health success which can also be a major guide for some of our great public health challenges including the harmful use of alcohol.
