What is health promotion?

Better health for all 

Health promotion is a set of actions to foster good health and wellbeing. It is not ‘promotion’ as in the sense of the word usually understood. Telling people how to look after their health is just one part of health promotion.

Our history

30 years+

Established in 1987, VicHealth is the world’s first health promotion foundation.

Our journey so far

Growing Healthy Communities Grants 

Investing in local programs that support Victoria’s children, young people and their families facing structural barriers to good health.

We've launched the Future Healthy Countdown 2030

Every year until 2030 we'll highlight the health and wellbeing of children and young people and propose pathways to ensure an equitable future for all.
