Nominations open from 10am Tuesday 9 August 2022 and close at 6:30pm Sunday 11 September 2022.

What do you mean by health promotion? View more

Health promotion is the act of supporting governments, communities, and individuals to cope with and address health challenges to prevent disease and to improve health and wellbeing. We’re looking for project/individual/organisations working on improving physical and mental health by tackling issues such as, but not limited to, access to healthy food, keeping communities active and bringing people together to increase social connection. We’re also interested in work that has helped reduce use and harm from alcohol, junk food, tobacco, vaping and gambling products as well as illicit drugs.

VicHealth encourages applications from any individual and/or organisation that thinks their operation and/or project work – undertaken within the eligible nomination timeframe – embodies our definition of health promotion.
When does the work I want to nominate for need to have been done? View more

Most of the work completed must have occurred between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022.

Can an organisation, project or individual nominate for more than 1 award? View more

You may nominate for more than 1 award category, but you must complete separate nominations and tailor your answers to the specific criteria for each category. Read the category descriptions closely and choose categories where your work best fits the description.

How do I nominate for an award? View more
  1. Read the award categories and choose the award that best suits the project/individual/organisation you’d like to nominate.
  2. Take some time to review the information you need to provide for the award nomination.
  3. Visit our online awards platform here, register your details and login to AwardForce.
  4. You will be asked to verify your email address.
  5. You can complete a written nomination or upload as a video recording. If you are submitting a written nomination, complete all the relevant sections and upload any images or PDFs with evidence to support your nomination. (Please note: PDFs only required for Outstanding Media Reporting Award).
  6. Once all information has been provided – press ‘submit’ before the deadline: 6:30pm Sunday 11 September 2022.

How do I complete a written nomination? View more

The written nominations process is very easy. It doesn’t take long to complete, and you can save your progress and come back later to finish. Once you login and fill in some contact details, complete the assessment tab: summary (150 words), description (250 words) and outcome (250 words). Please follow these steps:

  1. Review the information you need to provide for the award nomination.
  2. Visit our online awards platform here, register your details and login into AwardForce.
  3. You will be asked to verify your email address.
  4. Complete your nomination, upload some supporting images/PDFs (if applicable) and press submit.
  5. You will get an autoreply email confirming your nomination has been completed successfully.

How do I complete a video nomination? View more

The video nominations process is super simple. You need to record your 5-minute video on your own device (smart phone, tablet etc) and upload to our online awards platform. Once you login and fill in some contact details, you need to upload your 5-minute video. Make sure you address three areas in your video: summary (1 min), description (2 mins) and outcome (2 mins). Please follow these steps:

  1. Review the information you need to provide under each section and make some brief notes as prompts that you can respond to in your video nomination.
  2. Record yourself on a camera or smartphone answering the criteria. There is no need for graphics or fancy editing, this is about the impact of your work rather than the style of the video. It’s important that the judges can clearly hear you, so try to record the video in a quiet place.
  3. Visit our online awards platform here, register your details and login into AwardForce.
  4. You will be asked to verify your email address.
  5. Complete your nomination, upload the video as well as other supporting information and images and press ‘submit’.
  6. You will get an autoreply email confirming your nomination has been completed successfully.

Do I need to upload any supporting images? View more

We would love to promote the fantastic work going on in the Victorian community. We would appreciate if you could upload at least 5 supporting images of the organisation, project or individual. Please note: the 5 images must be under 25MB in total and it’s important you have permission to share the photo from the people featured in the images.

Can I nominate a paid staff member of an organisation for the Community Legend Award? View more

This award aims recognises unpaid volunteers that provide amazing service to the Victorian community.

Can I nominate a paid staff member of an organisation for the Future Changemaker Award View more

If the nominee is paid for their work now, they must be a recent graduate from secondary school, TAFE or university. Recent graduate means the nominee graduated at the conclusion of 2020 or during 2021/2022.

What is the harmful industry declaration and do I need to complete this? View more

The harmful industry declaration allows VicHealth to know whether nominees have a relationship with ‘unhealthy’ or ‘harmful’ industries. The harmful industry declaration form must be completed by all nominees and is part of the nominations form on AwardForce.

When will finalists be announced? View more

VicHealth plans to notify and announce the finalists in December 2022.

Will there be an event to announce the award recipients? View more

VicHealth is planning for an event in February 2023. This will be a hybrid event, meaning it will be in person and online.
