On Monday 11 May 2020, the Victorian Government announced that some restrictions have cautiously eased so people can look after their own and others’ health, wellbeing and social connection.
From 11:59pm Tuesday 12 May, Victorians :
- Have up to five family and friends visit you at home.
- Gather outdoors with up to 10 people for non-contact sport and recreation in public places, such as National, State and public parks. This includes activities such as hiking or playing golf.
- Attend small gatherings of up to 10 people (along with those required to run the facilities) at some indoor facilities such as places of worship and community . The four-square rule applies in these settings.
It’s important to we must at least 1.5 from other people and practice good hand hygiene. If you feel unwell, even if you’ve tested negative for coronavirus, you must stay home.
Top 5 tips to help stop the spread of coronavirus:
- If you can stay home you must stay home – only leave your house for essential shopping, medical care or caregiving, work or education (if you can’t do remotely), exercise and outdoor recreation, and visiting friends and family – if you really need to.
- Wash your hands often and properly.
- Cough/sneeze into a tissue/your elbow and avoid touching your face.
- If you feel unwell, have been overseas or have come in contact with a positive case you must not leave your house/hotel.
- Practice physical distancing – stay home as much as possible, keep 1.5 distance from others, don’t shake hands/touch others.
