With physical distancing and staying home the new normal, the arts sector continues to bring Victoria’s vibrant art and culture scene online and into your loungeroom

Finished your latest 1000-piece puzzle or family art project? Here are some new ideas featuring interactive performances and screenings happening this month. Keep up your social connections by organising an online watch-party with your friends and family.

 

Victoria Together

A Victorian Government initiative, Victoria Together shares some of the best music, entertainment, nature and art our creative state has to offer.

Victoria Together includes content from:

  • Museums Victoria

  • Zoos Victoria

  • Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI)

  • Victoria's art galleries

  • Musicians, comedians and performers

 

It also includes a six-episode online series, The State of Music,featuring exclusive artist interviews alongside live performances from Australia’s best and brightest musical talent.

You'll be able to interact live with the show’s talent, submitting questions for artists to answer via a moderated livestream. Tune in to watch your favourite homegrown names from the front row comfort of home.

 

Humankind

Presented by the Human Rights Film Festival, this seven-day online film festival showcases a retrospective of films highlighting the strength of the human spirit, complemented by talks and performances by local artists.

From 18th - 24th of May you can enjoy a thought-provoking film each night, exploring different themes celebrating the resilience of communities.

In partnership with VicHealth, community organisations, social enterprises, artists and for-purpose businesses, Humankind offers audiences a chance to connect through storytelling and virtual performances.

Together With You - Arts Centre Melbourne

While the Arts Centre’s curtains are drawn, the show will go on with free digital experiences. Explore regularly added full length performances, artist interviews, family activities, podcasts, curated playlists and more from the comfort of your living room.

Each Wednesday night, Aussie artists and musicians band together virtually for a spectacular entertainment show, Big Night In hosted by John Foreman. Each episode will bring chit-chat, songs, laughs, and a grand finale music act that the whole family will enjoy.
