Amy started going to the gym to improve her health, but was worried about how she looked, wearing tracksuit pants and a big baggy shirt over her leggings.

She was filled with self-doubt and didn’t want to be seen, especially in a male-dominated gym.

“You wouldn’t see my shape, there’s no way I would’ve allowed it.” It was the middle of summer and the gym instructors were shocked, but she didn’t want people looking at her body.

But she soon realised that all she was doing was making herself over-heat and sweat more. Hiding behind layers had to stop.

“Everyone has self-doubt,” Amy says.

“It’s just whether you allow it to grow, which is a choice you make”.

She learnt to be comfortable in her own skin and celebrate what she was achieving at the gym, not worrying about covering up.
