To get more Victorians active through active recreation, sport and walking, VicHealth’s strategic approach ignites change to make being active part of everyday living

In implementing the Physical Activity Strategy 2018-23, VicHealth will progressively announce new sport and physical activity investments.

At present we can confirm the following funding opportunities for sporting organisations.

The dates are indicative, and specific funding amounts will be confirmed with the release of each individual funding guidelines.

Six rounds of the Challenge have occurred since 2014.

Innovation Challenge: Physical Activity (2019-21)

  • Approximately one round per year
  • Opens around April, with successful organisations notified in around June.

All sporting bodies as well as Victorian councils

Active Club Grants (2018-21)

  • Round 1: Opens in July 2018, 2019 and 2020. Successful applicants to be notified in November each year.
  • Round 2: Opens February 2019, 2020 and 2021. Successful applicants to be notified May each year.

Walk to School 2020 grant

Opens around May, with councils notified in around July.
