Organisations helping Victorians and their communities to live longer, happier and healthier lives are encouraged to nominate in the 2019 VicHealth Awards.
Acting VicHealth CEO Dr Lyn Roberts AO said the VicHealth Awards highlight the vital role health promotion plays in Victoria.
“Prevention is better than the cure and we all play a role in helping Victorians live healthy lives, particularly those who are disadvantaged in some way.
“The VicHealth Awards are a reflection of the incredible dedication of people across Victoria working to make their communities as happy and healthy as possible,” Dr Roberts said.
“For over a decade, our Awards have been raising the awareness of initiatives – small and large – and celebrating the positive impact they’re having on the lives of Victorians.
Dr Roberts said this year’s VicHealth Awards will introduce a new category focusing on the health and wellbeing of young Victorians.
“This new category recognises the increased focus across Victoria on helping young people reach their full potential for mental and physical health and wellbeing,” she said.
“I’m always blown away by the diverse and innovative nominations we receive each year, and I can’t wait to see the nominations for our new category focusing on young Victorians.
“If you’re part of the movement of promoting health make sure you don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate your work.”
