Almost one in five Australians has experienced race-based discrimination in the workplace. Research shows that promoting cultural diversity and preventing race-based discrimination will have a range of benefits for business, and better physical and mental health outcomes for employees.

VicHealth, in partnership with the Scanlon Foundation, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, and the Australian Human Rights Commission, provides evidence supporting diversity in the workplace in How cultural diversity can be good for business.

This information sheet provides evidence on how cultivating diversity can:

  • enhance business performance and productivity
  • increase innovate and creative thinking
  • save time and money
