What do you mean by health promotion View more

Health promotion is the act of supporting governments, communities, and individuals to cope with and address health challenges to prevent disease and to improve health and wellbeing. We’re looking for projects that:

  • improve physical and mental health by tackling issues such as access to healthy food
  • keep communities active and bringing people together to prevent loneliness and social isolation
  • help to reduce harm from things like alcohol, junk food, drugs, smoking and gambling.
What types of organisations can apply? View more
VicHealth encourages any organisation that thinks their operation and/or project work embodies our definition of health promotion to apply for an award.
When will finalists be announced? View more
 VicHealth plans to notify and announce the finalists in December 2021.
Will there be an event to announce the award recipients? View more
The situation with COVID-19 has impacted the running of events. If restrictions allow, VicHealth is planning for an event in early 2022. However, if it is not possible to host an event in person, the award recipients will be announced online via a livestream (details will be made available closer to the event).
