At VicHealth we aim to make working with us as rewarding and satisfying as possible.

As well as coming to work every day knowing you are making a positive difference to the health of all Victorians, you will also be able to take advantage of our great culture.

Healthy Workplace

VicHealth has been recognised as a healthy workplace and has successfully met all five statewide benchmarks within the Healthy Together Victoria, Healthy Workplace Program.

The benchmarks relate to different health areas (smoking, physical activity, mental health and wellbeing, healthy eating and alcohol) and workplace domains (culture, physical environment, health and wellbeing opportunities, community connections, workers).

A summary of the work we have done towards achieving all five benchmarks can be viewed here.

EWOC (Employee Wellbeing & OHS Committee)

The EWOC committee are responsible for providing an avenue for employee consultation relating to wellbeing and OH&S, as well as delivering employee health and wellbeing activities/topics. Some activities that have been organised by the committee include:

  • Subsidised massages
  • End of year celebrations
  • Spring BBQ
  • Harmony Day celebrations
  • Active April activities
  • VicHealth Talent Night.

Various opportunities  are also available to participate in physical activity activities, and some are available onsite during lunch time periods.

Bring your dog to work Thursdays and Fridays

We also allow pet dogs in the office on a Thursday and Friday. Whilst there are a number of requirements for dog owners, at times we do have quite a gathering of staff 'pooches' - proven to be advantageous to our mental health!

Monthly Celebrations

VicHealth regularly come together for various celebrations. For example, once a month we all get together to celebrate birthdays of employees who are celebrating that month. We have some cake, sing Happy Birthday, and balance it out with some fresh fruit.
