VicHealth is building on our investments in supplying more access to water in sports facilities by broadening the focus to live music venues.

Victoria has a famous live music scene with Melbourne being one of the great live music capitals of the world. With millions of patrons attend well over 60,000 gigs each year this makes the live music scene has enormous health promotion potential.

We are working in partnership with Green Music Australia and a group of prominent venues to demonstrate the benefits of making free, fresh drinking water more accessible while also reducing the use of single use plastic bottles.

These new plastic-free partnerships will see water refill stations and reusable water bottles stocked in all participating venues and made available to venue-goers, artists and staff. Promoting water consumption is good for health, good for business, and good for the environment.

Ultimately this will help increase supply, access and promotion of water as a drink of choice in live music venues means everyone can enjoy their night out.
