Future Foods for Future Health brought together international and national leaders from public health, environment, research, urban planning, faming, agri-food production, food processing, retailers and marketing sectors to examine the critical drivers and opportunities between health, food and sustainability.

This conference, in its second year, has brought together international and national leaders from public health, environment, research, urban planning, faming, agri-food production, food processing, retailers and marketing sectors to examine the critical drivers and opportunities between health, food and sustainability.

There was broad support for the Conference from across government and non - government departments. These included the Department of Human Services, Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development, Department of Sustainability and Environment, the Department of Primary Industries, Food Science Australia and the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation (VicHealth). The Conference was also assisted by a Planning group with representatives from the Coles Group Ltd, Gardiner Foundation, Heart Foundation Australia, Melbourne Market and the Victorian Local Governance Association.

On day 1, the Conference was opened by the Hon. John Brumby MP, Treasurer of Victoria, Minister for Regional and Rural development, Minister for Innovation. On day 2, the Conference was opened by the Hon. Bronwyn Pike, Minister for Health and Professor de Kretser AC, Governor of Victoria.
