The versatile ‘keep calm’ mantra has entered a new age of pertinence, as Victorians adjust to the unfolding restrictions governments have put in place to slow the spread of coronavirus and save lives.
Under the circumstances, even the most stoic among us may falter.
So as millions seek guidance on how to ‘keep calm…’ during the coronavirus pandemic, VicHealth CEO Dr Sandro Demaio shared some tips with RACV readers in hopes of reaching people all around Victoria.

Key tips to stay calm during coronavirus [from VicHealth CEO Dr Sandro Demaio]
Keep socially connected to others via social media, email or Skype.
Get physically active – exercise helps – even if it means thinking laterally and using things like bags of rice or tinned goods for weights.
Take stock of your emotions: it’s completely normal to feel concerned or upset about what’s happening. If you feel anxious, talk to a trusted friend or family member or seek professional help.
RACV also spoke to a clinical psychologist, whose tips were consistent with the ones we shared from one of our key partners in health promotion, Beyond Blue, including to limit your news intake.
While many Victorians are still adjusting to our new normal, following these tips can help us all to keep calm and slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
