Play a part in improving Victoria's drinking culture.
Next week, we're launching our next Innovation Challenge. This time around, we want to help you to change the culture of drinking in Victoria.
The VicHealth Innovation Challenge – Alcohol launches on Monday, 13 October 2014.
We're asking universities, not for profits, the private sector, changemakers and the broader community for ideas that can either:
- Reduce the amount Victorians drink, particularly those who drink a lot, often
- Increase the acceptability of saying no to a drink, or drinking a bit less
We want to help you trial your ideas, and are offering an investment pool of $300,000 which will be shared amongst the handful of successful projects.
Changing the culture of drinking in Victoria is a Herculean task; we don’t expect projects to achieve this on their own. We want to invest in promising ideas that focus on impact, and over the longer term show the potential to reach a lot of people across our state.
To get the ball rolling, we’re running two workshops over the next month with the crew from Doing Something Good:
Discovery & Insights Forum
Monday 20th October, 9 -5pm
If you’re interested in applying for the challenge, don’t miss this event. It’s your chance to:
- explore and build understanding around some of the key issues concerning alcohol in Victoria
- uncover and share our collective insights
- learn about innovative approaches and solutions
- identify opportunities for collaboration
Alcohol Ideas Jam
Wednesday 5th November, half day
The jam is for anyone thinking of submitting a project proposal. Participants will work collaboratively to develop an idea through rapid prototyping, and deliver a pitch outlining their proposals.
Details for this event will be released shortly.
Entries close on November 21. Applicants with the most promising ideas will be provided with support to develop a business case and a final pitch. Winners will be announced in January 2015.
