VicHealth Local Government Partnership: Young people leading healthier communities

Local Government Partnership: Young people leading healthier communities  overview

What’s our Local Government Partnership all about?

VicHealth is partnering with Victorian councils to set our kids up for their best possible future by creating communities where children and young people grow up active, socially connected and healthy.  The partnership amplifies their voices, ideas and experiences to create a healthier future.

We know young people are eager to be a part of healthy and connected communities. By offering meaningful opportunities where their voices can be heard, we can inspire more creative local solutions for greater impact.

Over the coming years, we’ll work with fast- track councils in a strategic and equitable way through evidence-based health promotion modules and communities of practice. By partnering with councils in this way we will see stronger and long-lasting outcomes for more Victorians.

Learn about our health promotion modules

A series of evidence-based health promotion modules are available to support councils to implement action at the local level to create healthier communities for children, young people and their families.

All Victorian councils can access these modules as the building blocks for effective change in their communities.

These modules provide specific policy and practice changes for councils to embed to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people in Victoria. By partnering with councils in this way we will see stronger and long-lasting outcomes for more Victorians.

For more details about our modules find our webpage here.
