Health promotion research is essential to help us understand the factors that drive preventable disease and the interventions that are needed prevent illness and promote health. The picture is constantly changing and our research gives us the evidence to respond.

VicHealth research program funds research activities through a range of mechanisms including:

1. Investigator-driven research grant program which includes partnering on National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) partnership grants and Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage grants, and VicHealth’s own Impact Research Grants.
2. Commissioned research to inform our work or fill an identified evidence gap.
3. Knowledge translation activities with the primary purpose of enabling application, replication or transfer of available knowledge.
